Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Famed For Parts in The Middle and Friends, Passes Away at 60 Years Old.
Stateside actor Finn, who was seen in beloved programs such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California on Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis since 2022, per media reports.
"Pat Finn saw everyone as a friend - only friends he didn't know yet," his family stated in a announcement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with zest and passion".
A Prolific Career on Screen
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He was also seen in a repeating character on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He appeared as Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, depicting a social organizer known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on a variety of popular shows, including:
- "King of Queens"
- "Friends"
- "That '70s Show"
- "House"
Finn was perhaps best known for his portrayal of the character Bill Norwood in "The Middle", starring in eight seasons between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits include "It's Complicated" and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups.
Beyond the Screen
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and served as an educator at the University of Colorado, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe named "Beer Shark Mice".
"Pat guided, supported, and advised many learners throughout the years and you'd be hard-pressed to find anyone anyplace who has anything negative to say about him," his relatives stated.
Offering condolences, fellow actor Richard Kind remarked there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".
"Consistently upbeat, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted publicly.
The actor is remembered by his spouse Donna, his children, and his family.
