Former Physician Accused of Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- doctor has been charged with committing sexual assaults against 38 victims who were under his care.
Details of the Serious Allegations
Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of sexual offences – some of which involve acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One deputy chief prosecutor said, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the available evidence to establish that there is a strong case to bring the case to trial and that it is in the public interest.”
The Police Inquiry
These allegations come after what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at two hospitals: the Royal Stoke university hospital and Russells Hall hospital.
Spencer is scheduled to appear at the local magistrates' court on 20 January.

The charging documents said the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
- 3 counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
