Mohamed Salah Offers Apology to Liverpool Dressing Room, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has revealed that the Egyptian forward said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the controversy from his televised remarks.
What Happened
The striker was dropped from a key Champions League match following making accusations and suggesting his rapport with Arne Slot had broken down.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones told Sky Sports. “He said sorry to the group and was like: ‘Should anyone feel slighted, I apologise.’”
The manager has refused to comment publicly on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere remained positive. “He was the exact same Mo, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
He also noted that a competitor wanting to play is less of an issue. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “Yet, should someone be happy to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. The player is convinced the outburst were not designed to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a place of caring,” he finished. “It's behind us and we’re building chemistry, performing and securing victories.”
