NFL 2025 season: Week six

Live coverage features text commentary of Sunday's games via various channels, starting with the Broncos-Jets clash at Tottenham (from 14:00 BST). Additionally, radio commentary is available through designated networks for a separate game (from 21:00 BST).

It's week six of the football calendar , after recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles being a potential Super Bowl match-up, each surrendered their unbeaten records.

Notable in those games was the number of penalties both conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they essentially beat themselves having led 17-3 going into the final quarter against the Denver Broncos, set to play in London this weekend.

However it was good to see that Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have that deficit and then lead three scoring drives in three attempts during the final period, to win the game 21-17.

Denver have the top defender in cornerback Pat Surtain II. They rank number one in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, and Denver won that battle.

They executed the Eagles' number in terms of disguised blitzes. They weren't always rushing extra pass rushers instead they might plug two linebackers in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and dispatch a nickel off the edge.

Early on in the campaign, we said on a program that Denver could be the current year's dark horses. They finished the previous year well then excelled in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New tight end their tight end has stepped up significantly while recent running back their rusher is a player the team trusts. He now ranks 5th in the NFL in ground gains (402) as well as tied-fourth in rushing scores (4).

It's impressive how the coach Sean Payton has "RUN IT!" at the top on his call sheet.

This demonstrates that Denver represent a squad aiming to prioritize the run, because one can achieve much based on that approach. It reduces down the pass rush while keeps you in favourable situations.

This has helped QB the young passer, who entered into the league as the 12th overall draft pick last year, throwing 29 touchdown passes – second only to Justin Herbert for the rookie record (31 in 2020).

Other elite QBs have the arm strength to pass all over, but they don't move the mobility that Nix has. He has exceptional passing ability, which is different, plus he is so athletic.

His strengths are his mobility, being able to throw while moving, and using different arm angles to make the pass when he rolls out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw that layered pass over the middle and past defenders.

For a young quarterback, aged 25, he displays great poise in the pocket and isn't bothered by extra rushers. He tries to evade being tackled whenever possible and is able pass in tight spots. He has sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.

When you consistently rush it eats up time and forces the opponent to be in play for longer, and when you've got a mobile QB the defence must cover the area downfield side to side. This proves exhausting.

Nix has pushed back with the coach during games at times and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's exciting for the coach to coach a young quarterback who's kind of like moldable clay. The coach can truly build something up how he wants to build it. I believe it's a unique opportunity for the coach.

The head coach owns a championship and has passed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen it all. In my opinion the achievements Denver are having on offence is largely down to his guidance, his play-calling, his situational awareness – and the combination with Nix helps shape him into who he is.

You wouldn't want a more qualified person in your ear, to assist you through some of the tougher situations and build confidence.

I believe in Denver's defence, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. Yet is the team good enough to go against a top squad at full strength? Since that wasn't championship-level play by the Eagles last Sunday.

Currently, it's unlikely the Broncos are elite. They're performing above average, which is a good place to hold the AFC West. The key to do is maintain this trajectory.

They're really good at leaning into their forte, which is running the ball, and that's precisely what they should do versus the New York Jets in London. It's going to be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five ground scores so far (in the bottom ten), and they're the sole squad yet to win any game.

Ever since the league began tracking takeaways decades ago, the Jets are the first team to be without any turnovers in five outings, which is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach with another team.

The Chiefs' QB says Kansas City are off to a poor start following Monday's defeat to Jacksonville.

Following the upcoming matchup, Denver have a manageable slate up to their bye (in week 12) - the Giants, the Cowboys, Houston Texans and the Raiders before the Chiefs.

In the AFC West, Kansas City are 2-3 and the Broncos are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 so they could challenge at leading the West.

It depends on which form Kansas City shows up they face since Denver {beat|def
